Already before the accession to the EU on 1st July 2007 Bulgaria has been an interesting country for investment. Both the admission of Bulgaria to the European judicial area and the European funding policy as well as the attractive national tax system (“flat-tax”) create favourable investment conditions.

The double taxation agreement with the Federal Republic of Germany, which exists since around 2010, as well as the – in comparison to other EU Member States – favourable labour (side) costs and the overall low development or side costs (land, fees, etc.) are of particular interest for investments.
